This figurative abstract was created during late winter in Paonia, Colorado, when springtime is so close, but you know full well that the cold is sticking around a while longer. It was my effort to bring color into the season. Late winter is especially tortuous for many of us who live in Colorado’s North Fork Valley, because our eyes are starved for all the pretty colors that we know are just around the corner here: deep turquoise skies, lemony sunshine, green hay fields, pink blossoms across the orchards, bright squash, zucchini and tomatoes, roses and of course, our massive, multi-colored peonies for whom the town of Paonia was named.

I’ve featured a photo of the back of the painting, for your reference, and you will also see a photo of the painting in a sample room and frame in order to help your imagination along. Colors may vary ever so slightly due to differences in monitor settings. This painting looks beautiful as a highlight to contemporary spaces and Mid Century Modern era decor. Enjoy!
