It’s Easy!

Commissioning a custom painting from an artist can be intimidating. It’s not the type of purchase you typically make, and you might be nervous about asking the right questions or using the correct terminology. Here’s the formal way to ask me to paint something for you. Study it closely before contacting me.

You: “Hey, Robin. Will paint a portrait for me?”
Me: “Sure!”

Once you’ve studied very well (wink), contact me via phone, email or this short little baby form. I generally paint pets and people but will gladly take suggestions from you on other ideas. My paintings are acrylic paint and pen on Gessobord. They are lightweight, easy to hang and need no frame. I use the highest quality paint, brushes and painting surfaces, and this quality is reflected in your portrait.

I have a wide range of prices, depending on size, and I process all forms of payment. There are some variables that affect price such as how many pets you request to be in the portrait, the quality of your photos (click here for guidance), and shipping distance. I require a 10 – 15 minute phone consultation for all private commissions so that we can iron out these details. Please call 512-963-4892 or fill out this contact form to reach me and learn more.

Here’s how the process works:

• You and I discuss portrait size/budget.
• You email photos of your subject to me.
• I send you an invoice.
• You pay.
• I paint.
• I ship your painting to you!

It can take me many moons to complete your portrait because my art is in demand and there are lots of other private commissions on my roster. BUT . . . if you want to give a portrait as a gift immediately, ask me about gift certificates. People LOVE receiving RobiniArt gift certificates because recipients get to work with me on the commission process themselves and have a more personalized involvement in the final portrait outcome.

I can expedite your commission for an extra charge if it’s an emergency art situation.

Please read my customer testimonials to learn more about working with me, my processes and my work ethic. I always post photos of the work in progress on my Facebook and Instagram pages, so visit those for behind-the-scenes photos. Call anytime to discuss a project at 512.963.4892. You can reach me via email at
